Entry: Dance Master Class
Organization: West Virginia University
Principal Agency: West Virginia University, University Relations
What better way to entice would-be dancing students to West Virginia University than to tell the story of a dance Master Class featuring dancers from today’s top dancing TV shows. The video demonstrates the kind of education and exposure students at WVU receive, not only for dancers, but by extension any student at the University.
Honorable Mention – News Release More than 500 Words-Not for profit
Entry: A Centuries Old Mystery By Diana Mazzella
Organization: West Virginia University, University Relations
Principal Agency: None
It was only happenstance that a researcher spending the summer at WVU stumbled upon a poem, written in the style of Chaucer, hidden in the pages of the University Library’s copy of an original volume of his work. Diana Mazzella, a communications specialist with University Relations at West Virginia University, crafted a compelling story of the find, plus why it’s important academically, producing a story that “got legs” internationally and even sparked an online discussion in Germany.
