Niki Gross was chosen as the 2020 Ultimate Mountaineer Fan. Her shirt design was voted as the 2020 Official WVU Fan Shirt and served as the inspiration for the Mountaineer Strong contest in the Fall of 2021.

Win or lose, the Mountaineers are always an inspiration to Niki. Her passion and dedication to WVU means everything to her. She's Mountaineer strong and always will be.

What is your favorite Mountaineer game you attended? 
My favorite Mountaineer game I attended was in 2003 when we beat #3 Virginia Tech 28-7. I can still remember the craziness that erupted in the streets after the game.

In one word describe what being a Mountaineer means to you? 
Everything

Share one Mountaineer fun fact about you. 
I've met every football and basketball head coach we've had since 1981.

What is your favorite WVU Athletics venue and why?
Milan Puskar Stadium because the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. I love the tailgating and seeing so many fellow Mountaineer fans all together in one place.

Who is your favorite Mountaineer player (past or present)? 
Steve Slaton

If you could go back and relive any Mountaineer moment, what would it be? 
I would definitely relive attending the Final Four in 2010. Even though we didn't get the outcome we were hoping for, it was still an experience I'll never forget.

If you attended a University, what school, what was your major and when did you graduate? 
I attended WVU from 1999-2003. I graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Geography.

My first Mountaineer memory is… 
My first Mountaineer memory is watching WVU beat Pitt on September 24, 1988 with my Uncle Chuck.

Where do you currently live? 
Charleston, WV

What is the biggest "thing or event" you have missed to watch a WVU game? 
I've missed work in order to watch a WVU game.

What is your favorite piece if WVU gear to wear when you are watching the Mountaineers?
My favorite piece of WVU gear I wear when I’m watching the Mountaineers would have to be my WVU ring.
