Our staff tells the stories of WVU. University Relations/Communications helps prospective and current students, alumni and parents, opinion leaders, and the community at large learn about the state’s flagship higher education institution. The information hub for news and information about the University is our website WVUToday.WVU Today
Mountaineer E-News, distributed by University Relations primarily to faculty and staff on all campuses, is an email publication and companion website containing news and announcements about the University. If you have questions about content submissions or distribution, or would like to receive Mountaineer E-News, send an email to email@example.com.
Mountaineer E-News is published daily at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday. The companion website is updated daily.
Announcements submitted to students.wvu.edu are also considered for Unews, an email sent to Morgantown students on Mondays and Thursdays (sorry, we cannot guarantee placement in Unews).
We tell Mountaineer stories to 175,000 alumni and friends of the University across the United States, and our website reaches alumni across the world. We dive into the stories of how the people of WVU are making a global impact. We remind readers what they love about being Mountaineers. We also want the magazine to help you share WVU’s stories to prospective students, faculty and staff, so let us know how we can help make that happen. And we’re always looking for your story ideas.
Sparked tells the story of the people from WVU who are changing Appalachia for the better, from the teacher revolutionizing how kids learn math to the scientists who discovered mysterious outer space radio signals. National commentators had a lot to say about Appalachia the last few years, mostly about the problems that we already know about it. But few people were going deep on the solutions. So we decided to do that.
