Market Research on Veterans

Situation: WVU is losing student veterans at a disproportionate rate after their first or second year, and the University is no longer considered a military-friendly school. As a result, the President’s Action Group for Veterans pledged to research and develop a strategic plan to create veteran-focused resources and services that will better serve student veterans and improve their experience. A dinner was held at the Blaney House and afterwards four focus groups were simultaneously conducted.

Results: The insights gained from those discussions around the topics of transition, support systems, health and wellness, academics and social/networking opportunities helped identify the most significant problems and solutions that will allow WVU to better serve student veterans and improve their experience.
