InfoStations FAQ

What is the main purpose of the InfoStations?

In the event of an emergency, WVU Police Department sends a text message from the e2Campus system which in turn triggers an alert page on all InfoStations across campus. This alert message will take precedence over all pages and will include an audible alert. It is required that all InfoStations have the volume turned up in order for this alert to be heard.

How to get an InfoStation installed in your building?

  • Contact to set up a meeting
  • InfoStation staff will meet with interested parties to do a walk-through to locate key areas for installation and discuss pricing.
  • Walk-through will be completed with ITS contractor to get an estimate for data, power and installation costs.
  • Quote will be drafted and sent to department.
  • Once funds are received by InfoStations equipment will be ordered and installation will be scheduled.
  • ITS contractor will run all cabling and install InfoStations
  • InfoStations staff will complete connections and get the screens up and running

    What types of content can be played on the InfoStations?

        • Must represent a WVU College, facility, student organization, or service.
        • WVU calendar pages which pull from
        • Item pages with a custom designed web form to update information.
        • Graphics pages that play departmentally designed graphics. All designs must be professional and follow the WVU Brand guidelines.

      Horizontal Graphic Size Requirements:

      WIDTH: 1920 pixels 
      HEIGHT: 1080 pixels
      RESOLUTION: 72 pixels per inch 
      IMAGE MODE: RGB Color

      Vertical Graphic Size Requirements :

      WIDTH:1080 pixels 
      HEIGHT: 1920 pixels
      RESOLUTION: 72 pixels per inch 
      IMAGE MODE: RGB Color

      Campus wide graphics may be played upon approval by the InfoStations staff. Send completed designs to for approval. Please include the date and time you would like your graphics to begin and end playing on the InfoStations.

      Recommended Software

      To create your organization’s graphic we recommend that you use either Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator software. These programs can be accessed at the Downtown and Evansdale Libraries.

      How do I get my content on the InfoStations?

          • Page templates will be designed by the InfoStation staff and databases will be created to house content.
